It's been a very hectic year. In January I was commissioned by the Foriegn Office to go to Moscow to shoot the British Ambassador's Residence overlooking the Kremlin. It was minus 17 degrees C at times and doing the dusk shot from across the river was pretty worrying. The camera didn't seem to have a problem but my fingers and toes certainly suffered.
On the last day the designer and I had a formal dinner with the Ambassador. Unfortunately all my baggage allowance was used up with equipment and I had no indoor shoes. It was very embarrassing meeting the Ambassador in his Saville Row finery dressed in my average clothes and be-socked feet! However by a few G&T's and fine wines thankfully the mood relaxed and the delicious cuisine was enjoyed by all.
Late last year I was contacted by MBA, a London based advertising agency, about shooting jet interiors for them. They had recently landed the Embraer account and wanted their imagery to reflect the luxury that a private jet represents. Our first commission was to shoot an Embraer 500 mockup body at their american base north of Miami. We used a Miami based stylist and the shoot went really well.
They then contacted me a few weeks later to ask if I would like to go to Sao Paulo to shoot Jackie Chan as his new Embraer Legacy 650 was being handed over to him. We had to shoot some set up interior shots with him and then some shots of him leaping around on the wings and making kung fu style shapes. We had fun and he was incredibly friendly and helpful. Amazingly we got some unsolicited feedback a few days later from him saying that he thought the shoot was one of the most professional he had been on!
I have been very busy with Pringle Brandon this year, who became Pringle Brandon Perkins + Will towards the end of the year. Here is The Crystal in London Docklands which is a Wilkinson Eyre building with all interiors by Pringe Brandon.
I wish everyone a Happy Xmas and look forward to working with you next year.
